Like a rolling stone, Bob Dylan's career shows no sign of stopping. The 70-year-old singer is recording his 35th studio album, which could be released before the end of the year.

"It's an amazing thing, how he keeps creativity," Los Lobos singer David Hidalgo told the Aspen Times. Hidalgo has recently finished recording with Dylan at Jackson Browne's Los Angeles studio. The multi-instrumentalist has appeared on Dylan's most recent albums, Together Through Life and Christmas in the Heart, both issued in 2009.

"Each one has been different, all completely different approaches," Hidalgo said. While Christmas in the Heart was full of Yuletide standards, and Together Through Life began as film music, Dylan's forthcoming album will have a Latin American flavour. Hidalgo introduced Dylan to the tres guitar. "He'd say, 'Wow, what's that?'" Hidalgo said. "He liked the sound. So we'd get it in there."

Dylan was recently honoured with a 76-track tribute album, including covers by Adele, Miley Cyrus, Pete Townshend and Bad Religion. His label is also reportedly preparing to release his complete discography for around £200.
