It feels like Robert Plant’s having a bit of a moment. This summer, his set at Glastonbury was acclaimed by those who saw it as one of the hits of the festival. His new album, Lullaby and … the Ceaseless Roar, has been picking up rave reviews left, right and centre. The Led Zeppelin remasters have been inescapable. And if you weren’t there, you’re going to have to take it from me that his gig at the Roundhouse in London on Monday, as part of the iTunes festival, was hands-down the best show I’ve been to all year.

The new record sees Plant combining two of his great passions – the country and blues of the southern states of America and African music – into a seamless whole. It’s the work of a man who’s still questing to make music that satisfies him, but who’s not doing so by disappearing up his own fundament. It may be Plant’s name that draws people to his shows, but he’s making new music that stands up alongside that of his past.

We’re delighted, then, to bring you the video for his new single, Rainbow. Have a look and let us know what you think.
