■ Ella Eyre

With a big voice and even bigger hair, Ella Eyre is already a powerful stage presence at the tender age of 20. The west London singer with the huskiest voice in pop is playing 13 dates across the UK and Ireland, kicking off in Birmingham and ending in Belfast. With a debut album in the works, Eyre has already collaborated with big names, including Rudimental and Wiz Khalifa. Touring 1-22 October. Details: ellaeyre.com

■ Speed the Plow

In an act of of (possible) casting genius, troubled movie star Lindsay Lohan is playing a ditz with hidden depths in David Mamet's high-octane, one-liner-fuelled satire of Hollywood. Her role, Karen the secretary and would-be actor, is an intriguing blend of naivety and manipulative seduction as she turns the tables on her sexist, big-shot studio bosses. If it all goes wrong with Lohan, the production is in the safe hands of director Lindsay Posner, who has directed more David Mamet plays in the West End than any other director. Playhouse, London (0844 871 7631), 24 September- 29 November.

■ William Blake: Apprentice and Master

Printmaker, painter and revolutionary poet, this upcoming exhibition on the life and work of William Blake will be at home in the equally grand Ashmolean. From his teenage apprenticeship as an engraver to his artistic maturity in the 1790s, this collection also includes the works of the young artist-printmakers who gathered around Blake in his final years. Ashmolean, Oxford (01865 305305), 4 December to 1 March.

■ Bakersfield Mist

The most amazing part of Stephen Sach's comedy is that it is based on a true story: Maude, a boozy ex-bartender played by Kathleen Turner, buys a painting from a thrift shop for a few bucks and declares it a genuine Jackson Pollock. In swoops Lionel Percy, a world-class art expert, and a clash of class and culture unfolds in Maude's trailer-park home. Originally running until the end of the month, Bakersfield Mist is now closing this Saturday. Duchess, London (0844 412 4659), until 9 August.
