More than 5 million people tuned in on Saturday, March 1, to see former The X Factor runner-up Andy Abraham become UK's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Eurovision - Your Decision pulled in 5.1 million viewers and a 24% share between 7pm and 8pm, while the results show drew 5 million and 24% between 9.30pm and 10pm, according to unofficial overnight figures.

BBC1's Casualty attracted 7.1 million viewers and a 31% share at 8.10pm, while romantic comedy Love Soup picked up 4.2 million and 19% at 9pm for its first episode.

Over on ITV1, Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway drew 6.9 million viewers and a 33% share between 6.45pm and 8pm, while quizshow Duel won 3.6 million and 16% at 8pm.

Movie The Bourne Supremacy brought 3.4 million viewers and a 17% share to ITV1 between 9pm and 10.55pm.

Channel Five did best out of the three smaller terrestrial channels, with CSI: NY scoring 2.6 million viewers and a 12% share between 9pm and 10pm.

BBC2's biggest hitter of the night was Have I Got Old News for You with 2 million viewers and a 9% share between 9pm and 9.30pm.

BBC2's repeat of the whole series of BBC3's comedy Gavin and Stacey, with six episodes airing between 9.30pm and 12.30am, hit a peak of 1.4 million viewers for the 15 minutes from 10.15pm.

The highest rating programme average was for the second instalment at 10pm with 1.3 million viewers and a 7% share.

Channel 4's best score was for movie repeat Sense and Sensibility, which captured 1.4 million viewers and an 8% share between 9pm and 11.35pm with a further 73,000 tuning in on Channel 4 +1 an hour later.
