Unlike guardian.co.uk/music's Tim Jonze and Rebecca Nicholson, most of us aren't able to hop on a plane and head to Austin for SXSW.
And with so much going in the Texan capital over the course of the festival, it's difficult to get a sense of which acts attendees are most enjoying, and what's getting people talking.
With that in mind, we've been combing through Twitter to gauge which bands have been prompting significant tweet action. Here's what we found out about the bands playing last night.
White Denim
So White Denim wins SXSW day 1.

Dear #SXSW - thank you for Kasabian, possibly the best live rock act I've ever seen. Shame on you for following them with M Ward. #buzzkill
