Former BBC Radio 1 DJ Gilles Peterson is to present a new Saturday afternoon show on Radio 6 Music.
Peterson, who was one of a number of Radio 1 DJs dropped in a shake-up by controller Ben Cooper, is part of a new Saturday schedule on 6 Music, which celebrates its 10th birthday on Sunday.
Peterson's show, to be made by independent production company Somethin' Else, will air between 3pm and 6pm on Saturdays, promising a mixture of soul, jazz, hip-hop and dance.
Liz Kershaw, who broadcasts on 6 Music on Saturday afternoons, loses an hour of her show with a new 1pm-3pm slot, while Jon Holmes switches to a new time, 10am-1pm.
The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show will run one hour earlier, in a 6pm-9pm slot, while Tom Robinson gets a new three-hour Saturday night show from 9pm.
In other changes, Stuart Maconie's Freakzone on Sunday night will move two hours later, to 8pm-10pm.
The early breakfast show fronted by Chris Hawkins will move to BBC North from 26 March, joining other 6 Music presenters in Salford including Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie, Marc Riley, Guy Garvey and Craig Charles.
